About Our Program...

Nor' West Co-op provides primary health care to Inkster residents. The Aboriginal Health Program integrates culturally appropriate resources into Nor' West Health Centre programs through:

•Providing individual and family support

•Advocacy and assistance in accessing services

•home visits and outreach

•Medicine Wheel assessments

           Aboriginal peoples comprise approximately 50% of the centre's clientele.

•Individual/Family counselling

•Individual/ Family support and referral

•Home visits

•Medicine Wheel assessments

•Advocacy with other systems

•Connect community to Nor' West services


Community Development Projects:

•Accessing traditional resources upon request

•Healthy Lifestyle Bingo's

•Diabetes Support Groups

•Food Security Projects

  1. Consulting with the local Aboriginal community

  2. Identifying priority health needs through working with the Aboriginal community

  3. Linking with Aboriginal organizations to address social, economic and other issues
